Outstanding! - David Garrido Robles - 13 November 2013
I was tempted to sell my G6120EC because, although I loved that model and bought it at half price, it lack resonance and the existing bridge Dynasonic pickup only put 75% of the power of the neck p-90 out, no matter what height were adjusted both. I m using gold plating steel strings to prevent corrosion and the sound is even brighter, but the bridge pickup is extremely thin and dull, lifeless sounding for such a quality guitar. I was thinking of selling my axe because of that, was I dissapointed! However I loved playability and p-90 tone and old recordings where Twang s the Thang and I really wanted to go to extremes to make it sound good. So, based on a Duncan Vs TVJones Dynas video series on youtube, being the former very powerful I preferred the last because it sounded more musical and the lower price tag didn t hurt either. And when my bridge pickup was installed... it was night and day compared to the factory Dyna. The question is, the six magnets on the TVJones are only half longer and that -and maybe the magnet type- translates into a much lower string pull-up. This alone makes the strings vibrate in a very much freely and harmonically rich fashion, so the guitar gained a lot of resonance. And, as a plus, the TVJones has so much power output that now I have to readjust height/type of p-90 to balance the volume. So now I ll have to buy shims or rewound the p-90, as it s a Lindy Fralin 10% underwound supposedly. But I m on the right track now, heading to Twangland and
